Dhuluny Gawaymbanha: Welcome and Opening Ceremony

Gathering first at the Bathurst War Memorial Carillon, Kings Parade, attendees were welcomed to the opening of the week of events. The town was cleansed by smoke moving throughout the streets of the CBD while the Carillon bells matched the rhythm of clap sticks started by Uncle Bill Allen, direct descendent of warrior Windradyne.

We then gathered at the Wambuul-Macquarie River Ceremonial Ground, for a Community Smoking Ceremony with dancers from Dirraybang footprint.
